Pizza and Purpose: This Week's Broadcast Message

Today I sent out a Broadcast Message via Community Voice Mail with information on various employment opportunities. The text of the message is included below!

Hello! This is Abi with your weekly broadcast message. Today’s message contains information on two job fairs, one for veterans and the other for bilingual people; and two companies that are hiring, one in security and one in food service.

This Wednesday, March 28, the US Chamber of Commerce will hold an employment fair for veterans, guard and reserve members, and eligible spouses at the Hilton Chicago, 720 South Michigan Avenue from 9 am to 1 pm. Registration is closed, but veterans and spouses with proper identification will be accepted as walk-ins. For more information, email hiringourheroes@uschamber.com.

Also this Wednesday, Admiral Security will hold a job fair. Applicants must have a valid PERC card and be willing to submit to a drug screen and background check. The fair will take place at the Holiday Inn at 506 West Harrison from 10 am to 3 pm on March 28.

On Thursday, March 29, there will be a Bilingual Career Fair for speakers of English and Spanish or Portuguese. The event will take place in the Lakeview Terrace at Navy Pier from 10 am to 3 pm. Bring resumes and dress to impress, as there will be on-site interviews with employers. For more information or to pre-register, visit http://www.nshp.org/.

In food service, Panino’s Pizza is hiring line cooks, dining room servicers, salad and sandwich preparers, and front end counter and phone order takers. Applicants must have food service experience. Apply in person with an updated resume at 3702 N Broadway, or call 773-472-6200 for more information.

Finally, a quote from French philosopher Michel de Montaigne: “The great and glorious masterpiece of man is to live with purpose.” I wish you a week full of purpose.
